First Harvest Afternoon Tea is a time to be mellow and to enjoy tasty treats from the earth that have been growing since early summer, have some great conversation, and savor the memorable moments.
From the poem "I am the autumnal sun" by Henry David Thoreau
I am the autumnal sun, With autumn gales my race is run; When will the hazel put forth its flowers, Or the grape ripen under my bowers? When will the harvest or the hunter's moon Turn my midnight into mid-noon? I am all sere and yellow, And to my core mellow.
August's Afternoon Tea at the Space will be a celebration of the harvest, a time to enjoy the last days of summer with service, conversation, and fantastic tea.
Our Afternoon Teas at The Space, while not quite the same as the ones in the Palm Room at the Ritz in London, are far better. They are about more than tea, pretty china, sandwiches, and cake. They are about sharing in the enjoyment of power exchange and being with others who respect the dynamics of serving and being served. We have put together a team of service s-types who are interested in learning the finer points of tea and table service and who want to hone their skills at anticipatory and formal service. If you are interested in being a part of this team, please contact MochaLMT or SpankyRae on Fetlife
There is a dress code of business casual for all guests (no jeans or sweatpants).
Afternoon Teas happen monthly on the 4th Sunday from 1:00pm-2:30pm.
