    The Other Half of Yoga


    Yin yoga is sometimes thought of as “the other half” of yoga. To truly complete your yoga practice and experience the wholeness of the benefits of yoga, consider adding this style to what you are already doing. Or, if you have been nervous or intimidated by yoga in the past, feel like you are not “fit” enough to do yoga or have some injuries that may make a more traditional yoga class difficult for you, Yin yoga is a great place to start.


    Unlike the more traditional, active styles of yoga (sometimes referred to as Yang styles), which physically focus on stretching and strengthening the muscles through movement and flow, Yin yoga shifts its focus to stretching the connective tissue of the body – the ligaments, tendons, joints and fascia. In order to do this, there is less movement and more stretching and holding poses for longer periods of time – usually 3-6 minutes. Don’t worry – you are not going to be trying to stay in Downward Dog, Plank, or Tree poses for this long! In Yin yoga, the goal is to use minimal muscular effort – so instead of using your arms to hold you in place, we use bolsters and blankets to support you, so you can relax into the stretch. Think spinal twists and seated forward bends. Many people love the meditative benefits of a Yin practice as well.



    The longer pose holds and less movement allow your mind to focus on your meditation. This is sometimes the more challenging part of the practice for some people, and others, the more freeing side of their yoga practice.

    It's been a while since our last... but the warm summer nights are here. Perfect time for exploring cigars with cigar and tea service and pairings! Add in some luscious chocolate, and you have a wonderful event!

    We will be putting up the Smoker's Tent out in the back of the Space There will be some of the staff from the Sunday Teas providing some hot and cold beverages for your enjoyment. Add in some quality chocolates for your pleasure and bring some of your favorite sticks, and join us for a great night of cigars &tea!

    So, if you are a kinky stogie smoker, an ash slave, enjoy cigar and/or tea service - as a top or bottom and/or are a boot black, leather lover - or just want to be part of the fun? We look forward to hosting you!
